July Meeting

Grounding Essentials For The Shack

This months meeting of the White Mountain Amateur Radio Club will be a presentation by Ed Earny, NZ1Q.  Ed’s QTH is St. Petersburg, FL but spends some time with us in FN44 during the summer.

Ed is a great speaker and a great resource for all things ham!

The topic is super relevant as we are in thunderstorm season.  Lightning, AC safety ground and RF grounds – what’s the difference, what’s important about each, best practices with shack/antenna ground system examples.  Also, a few facts about lightning that gives us a better chance of protecting our equipment form a direct hit or near-by electro magnetic pulse (EMP).
